My favorite sound is the soft nicker of a horse. My favorite feel is the purr of a cat against my cheek. My favorite sight is when my dog lifts his face to the sun just for the warmth it offers.
Quite simply ...I adore them. Dogs, cats, goats, horses, donkeys, whatever your fur or feather baby of choice. They offer us so much. They give us love and companionship. They share our lives. They listen to our problems. And they are vulnerable and deserving of our care and respect. At the very least, we owe them that.
We cannot always be there for our pet companions when we need to be. Life happens and our obligations or other responsibilities sometimes make it so that we need to rely on others to help out with their care. It gives me a fulfillment to be able to be that "person" to help with someone's beloved companion so they can feel confident in the care they are receiving. I want to get to know them, recognize their needs, give them the attention they need. Just love them.
