After a mellow breakfast visit, and seeing that he still wasn’t eating much I thought for lunch I’d really stimulate his mind and his appetite. We headed out for a road trip and ended up in downtown Southbridge, headed to the cemetery. Aneto was in a wonderful mood from the moment he jumped in the car and stuck his head out the window. And I could tell he was having a great time but I had no idea how funny he is.
– Hey Alex, what’s this?
– It’s a mail truck, dude
– How do you know it’s not a female truck? 😂
– Hey Alex, what are these?
– Those are headstones, Aneto
– Where are the tailstones? That’s what I want to sniff under! 😝
We stayed out until raindrops forced us inside. When we got back I gave him some wet food to go with his kibble to make sure he got his strength back up. And sure enough, when I was back for dinner his bowl was completely empty. I thought he’d be tired and just want to cuddle but nope, he dragged me out for a full walk. Each time we go we end up taking a different path. This time it was up the big hill parallel to the main road. Aneto was all business, and knew just what he wanted to check out. Among them was a bunny much too brave for his own good, staring Aneto down as he munched a plant. There was a hawk overhead that Aneto kept a very close eye on. We did find time for cuddles when we got back, tired from our day’s adventures. He may like to tell Dad jokes, but he snuggles just like a kid.
