The furry kids were a delight to take out for their first walk. Maya and Kaia treated us like old friends, and were very comfortable with the leashes and harnesses. Kaia ranged ahead and marked the best spots for the rest, while Maya read every pee-mail in detail and with great interest. Izzy on the other hand was more interested in us and the cornucopia of treats we carried. When spent her time walking and begging (quite effectively) and trying to burrow into the bags whenever the opportunity presented. 🤣 She also had no issues with harness and long leash. But Chris was the big surprise. He was reluctant and nervous and confused but he had spectacular leash manners. Since he can be skittish I attached him to my leash (which is attached to me) in case he bolted. But he trotted along, nervous but near us, the whole way out. But when we turned around and it was time to go home he panicked and tried to bolt. The retractable gave him some space to do so, and he pulled hard towards home. Eventually he realized he had space, he was safe, and we were going home, and he visibly relaxed, but he still was in a hurry to get home, to Mom and Dad, to safety. But once he was in his comfort zone he did offer thanks and that was a shock. 🥰That’s tremendous progress for the first day. We cannot wait to see them again. These pups are so fun!
