Otis is not a fan of the heat, let alone direct sunlight. There was a quit visit to his favorite tree, a quick taking care of business, and then under the shade of the big oak in the yard and… done. He wasn’t interested in the rest of the yard where the sun shone brightly. But a few minutes under the tree lead to an outright assault by busy buzzing biting things. We tried to ignore, but had to retreat out of the nice shade. We made a beeline to the back, where a strip of shade offered solace, but here again the mosquitoes were relentless and drove us out into the hot sun. The chased us all the way inside, but here was cool, and water, and food. More importantly, there was couch and a toy to tug and petting and jumping and eventually we were both happy and exhausted. As for the bugs? We’ll stay cozy inside for now.
