Today started off with warm cuddles and purrs! The pups took their time waking up and starting the day so coffee and cuddles was the perfect start to the day. Maverick was our coffee pot supervisor, making sure it brewed in a timely manner then he settled in the living room window so he could watch the world outside wake up. When it was time for some outside time, Saga decided to have the zoomies and play with sticks! Corey didn’t jump too much thankfully but did get a nice little run in, a few laps just to get the blood pumping. Then we went inside to warm up and watch some Episode of Bluey! While the pups watched their cartoons, Alex and I tidied up Mavericks area and freshened his litter and boy I guess he was happy about that because he went into crazy playful mode instantly! We played in his tunnel and with his rainbow wand for a while. When it was time to tidy up Athena’s palace, well she was overjoyed!!! She crawled back and forth from me to Alex and so on then it was scurry every which way! She sat in my sweatshirt pouch while I put everything back in her cage all clean and tidy. Well that not the end of the Athena story though. When we were all done we placef her back in her enclosure or we thought! Doors were were secure etc. well a little later on, I went up to check on her and play with her but when I opened the doors to her enclosure, No Athena!!!! Of course my heart skipped like 50 beats but I kept my cool.i was so perlexed! So I looked all around in there to no avail until I sat on the bed in such confusion on how she is NOT in her cage, boop! She poked her little head out from under the pillows on the bed!!! I was shocked and relieved but OMG this is not cool!!! She thought it was awesome BTW! So I looked around the enclosure and didn’t see any way she possibly could have escaped! So I placed her back in and closed her doors and sat back to see if she tried to escape again. And yup! She did and to my lap and up my sleeve she went! Thankfully because I saw where she escaped from, I realized that when I cleaned her enclosur , I didn’t realize there was a little grate that had been moved out of place! Well I fixed it and my blood pressure started to go down and now I could laugh about it, (only a little because it was scary😱😳🫢) She reassured me she was okay and very happy and made me feel better about the whole thing with so many kisses and we had a blast playing. She decided my pant legs were a fun place to explore and also my pockets! When it was time to settle down for the evening, she had no argument. She was quick to have a before bed drink of water and then crawl into her hammock to fall fast asleep and dream all about her great adventure today! 🤦🤪❤️
