I didn’t expect to walk in for my visit with Belle with fire alarms blaring throughout out the house. My first thought was smell and look for smoke but as I did, I made sure to call out Belle calmly as I checked the house! Thankfully there was no fire or even smoke. So I called Belle’s parents and they walked me through how to stop the alarms from going off and once there was silence, I could again focus on making sure Belle was okay. I was sure she was pretty scared with all the whistles going off and pretty sure she would stay in hiding! But as I was finally taking my coat off and about to go see if I could find her, she pranced into the kitchen with a lot to say, rubbed up against my legs and even let me pet her before she plopped at my feet for a big stretch and yarn!! She is one brave and strong kitty to be so unbothered after the fact by the whole ordeal! So we did what we we love to do and hung out and played with her favorite toys and just relaxed and decompressed. She then demanded some much deserved sink time!!! It was definitely one of the most exciting visits I have had with Belle that we both really hope we will never have to repeat! We will stick to the fun playtime and bird watching over the scary alarms anyway!
