Today’s walks started with Jake, and no sooner did we get past the bridge but a very wounded bunny came staggering into the road in front of us. I could see he’d been badly injured by something else, and my heart broke because I knew he wasn’t going to make it. He stopped mid-road, and was struggling to move, and Jake saw him. Doggie instincts immediately kicked in. I worked with Jake to get him calmly past and around. The bunny flip flopped his way to the end of the driveway of the house just past the bridge. I decided to take Jada on the trail after that, so as to avoid the poor bunny.
