We worked on helping Charlie re-learn getting into a car. We covered the importance of giving him ample floor space to get in, using a martingale collar so he can’t just *refuse* to go, and to lead by example – getting into the car first and having him follow. We talked about the importance of a routine – putting on the collar and getting him into the car in the garage – to reduce the anxiety of getting in. We also talked about weight loss – this may be the biggest issue. Charlie needs to lose AT LEAST 40# in the near future to protect him from ACL injuries and extend his lifespan.
