Casey Settles Right In

It usually takes a day or two for a dog to get settled in and used to a new routine. Often they will sit by the window, skip a meal, and generally keep to themselves. And though Casey had a lot of reservations about being left here, she’s found herself pleasantly surprised. At every turn. There’s a nice lounge by the window where she can watch the world go by, and a fine couch to watch TV and get belly rubs. 🥰 Treats are frequent, the water has ice cubes, and meals are what she expects when she expects them. There are other dogs to meet and play with, though. She likes that this space is exclusively hers. She was a little bewildered when we went on our first walk, taking in all the different scenery and people and cars. It’s fun to watch them figure out what’s what. By dinner time Casey had a healthy appetite and ate all her dinner. We hung out on the back porch and enjoyed some fresh air. She came up to bed with us and tried not to hog too much space. 🙂 This morning she ate without hesitation, excitedly checked out the farmers market being set up, and set out for our walk. This time she knew where she was going and what to expect and eagerly pranced from place to place. She still obviously misses you guys a lot, and checks every passing card to see if you’ll step out of it. But if she has to be apart from you, this is the place she wants to do it. ❤️
