It took 16 attempts to walk into his room without him getting up. That’s about the same as last time. Once I was able to approach and pet him on the ground, of course he got up and tried jumping but we immediately redirected that to “place” to get dressed. He doesn’t usually go on his own, but he follows me there, and doesn’t get a treat until he’s settled and expels that frustrated breath that says I give up. 🥰 Then he gets treats if he stays down. Once dressed we headed to the yard for some fun, and took a quick walk to the cul-de-sac. He nearly pulled me down the driveway on the way back but was otherwise very good on a long leash. When we came back we practiced place again, and this time I expected him to go by himself while I remained by the door. He did it! And after his reward he stayed there while I ranged all around the room. Amazing progress from Smart Boy Jasper! I was very proud. ❤️ Can’t wait to see how much he retains until next time!
