The last few days he’s been greeting me with a lick on the hand as soon as I open the door, and then he brings me a present. It’s vastly better than having him leap up to my face 😁 and enough to warm up my whole heart, even in this cold. We kept the walk short and off-road, keeping away from the salty asphalt as much as possible. Beau loves exploring the little patch of woods by the school parking lot. I don’t let him get too deep, but he can come at it from all different sides and get a good sense of it all. He’s very curious, and very very smart. Many dogs get tangled on the long leash in the woods, but Beau always backtracks so he doesn’t get it caught up. As I was leaving I gave him a kiss and left him a treat. I’m happy to make that our thing instead of jumping! 🥰
