Today’s walk started out as they always do, with happy wags and so much love! It was another beautiful day to enjoy with my them. We had fun sniffing and rolling in the grass. Lucy searched for a stick and found the perfect one to carry. It was a crunchy stick, her favorite! But then things got a little weird. The pups always listen for the squirrels and chipmunks in the brush and think about giving chase but they are really good about resisting the urge and we keep on moving forward on our adventures. Today I thought I heard something splashing in the river but the pups didn’t seem phased so I shook it off. Further down the street while the pups were intrigued by some interesting scents, I started to hear loud rustling in the brush on the opposite side of the road so I I turned to look when all of a sudden Oliver got in protective mode, puffed up and did the loudest doggy roar as he darted to the other side, Lucy followed suit with a growl and bark, and then they both quickly headed back towards the house as to separate us from what ever was stalking us! Once they felt the coast was clear, they slowed down, Lucy picked up her stick she found earlier and we continued our walk! I am not sure what was in the woods. Could have been a Turkey, a bobcat or even a mutant squirrel! Whatever it was, Both Lucy and Ollie didn’t want it close and I didn’t want them to be harmed! Sure I was a little shaken by the whole thing but they made feel safe. I felt like I was part of there pack. ❤️❤️ Truly my Heros!
