4/17 Monday. OMG what a sweetie Sayde is!! 🥰 After you left we went for a walk, she explored the park and neighborhood, and we had a great time playing. But as it dawned on her that you were gone and we weren’t expecting you back for awhile, she became more clingy. It’s tough for a 🐶 in a new place because they don’t know if the rules are the same, they don’t know if they ask to go out the same way, and if/when they get fed… So we do our best to reassure them about all that and more. We quickly established that she has an “I’d like to go out” sound, and she tested us several times to make sure we got it. She’s wonderful about that – she does her business right away and turns around. I suspect she’s got a touchy bladder, and knowing she can reliably go out is a relief in itself for her. While we worked all that out she also figured out that we like to cuddle with her on the couch and to play. We pulled off a tick (it was dead and she was very patient about it) so she knew we take care of her. The next time she whined it was a different sound – dinner? I mixed up her dry and wet (by the way, that is the best, wettest wet food I’ve seen!) and she ate it right up – a great sign that we made it the way she expected. She spent the rest of the evening thoroughly licking Alex’s face clean and playing fetch with her fish taco. She came right to bed with us and snuggled – she is a BED HOG 😂 – and woke us up with kisses. She went out, ate breakfast, and is now half-snoozing, half-watching the marathon preparations on TV. She misses you, a lot, that’s for sure. But I think she’s decided that if she has to wait for you SOMEWHERE, this isn’t a half-bad place to do it. 🥰
