3/2. We set out early in the hopes of letting Packer meet one of our friends and see if he’d enjoy that. Packer walked out your door, I asked if he needed to go to the bathroom before he got in the car, and he said wait a minute and ran to a bush. That’s one of the things I love about Packer – you can’t go wrong just talking to him and treating him like one of us. We drove all the way out to Brookfield, to enjoy the snowy scenery while Lindsay visited some cute kitties. Packer loved the unblemished snow, bounding from one bank to the next. He’s wonderful on a leash – I only wish a had a longer one for him because all he wants is to hit his top speed. He is so playful and fun, he totally got me into playing with the snow and then IN the snow, and it was a beautiful morning full of smiles. We got about a mile down the road before Lindsay caught up with us, and we headed to our friend Julian’s. Lindsay and Packer went to check out the neighborhood while I got Julian out. At first Julian was all snarls and lunges, but Packer very cutely stood up, introduced himself, and told him he was nice and friendly and Julian had nothing to worry about. Within minutes the two were happily walking side by side, sitting for treats, and sniffing the sights. A few minutes later Packer ranged ahead to check out every little stump and bramble, while the 3 of us hung back like old people. Neither of them were ready for the walk to be over by the time it was. Packer reluctantly got in the car, Julian reluctantly went back in the house. Next time, Packer told him through the window. It makes me so happy to have Packer be part of our pack. To make him feel important, like he belongs. Can’t wait for next time!!
