Walk Like A Man

It wasn’t fair for the girls to get all the puppy and kitten time, so I inserted myself into the schedule. And since we missed Lily last Friday, I had an extra long window to make friends. I was expecting her to be shy and nervous, and she way, but she let me remove her collar and clip her harness without a fuss. And once we headed outside she had thoughts of getting away from me, but… the leash was too long! She found herself a comfortable distance away without getting pulled or made to do anything… so we walked. Hesitantly at first, then closer and more confidently, her comfort zone grew with every step we took. I let her choose direction, mostly talking to her when we needed to change course or stay off the street. Rather than circle her building she led me on a walk around the block –  exploring apartments, checking out the nearby cul-de-sac (she called in a “roundy” 😂), and sniffing out critters in the bushes. We took some time to just enjoy the lunchtime sun, and happily headed inside. Once back she got shy again, and wouldn’t let me put the collar back on her, but she pooped and was pooped and I doubt she’ll be making much of a fuss. Oh, and I did get some play time with Stormie and I was right – it wasn’t fair for the girls to keep this sweetness all to themselves!! 🥰
