Even with Millie on a short leash to let her heal, Casey a little overwhelmed by her enthusiasm at first. But after the initial sniffs they found common ground, and set off happily from there. Short leashes don’t make for great exploring but they found plenty to occupy themselves with nonetheless. There was pavement to roll on, wet grass to lick, and lots of feathers to wonder about. But their real focus was the cacophony of animals around them – several barking dogs, rooster crowing, and songbirds telling off-color jokes. It was a lot to take in, and proves that you don’t need a long leash to let theit minds wander.
