The first day with new friends is always a little awkward – you’re not quite sure how to act around them, whether they’ll get your jokes, or think your habits are weird. But Hope and Sonya welcomed me to their house for a week like I was an honored guest! They showered me with love and affection from the moment I walked in the door. Sonya and I hit it off right away, being the touchy kissy kind of folks we are. Hope let us get our wanton affection out of the way before saying hello, and offering a single kiss on the nose. And that’s all it took. We went for a walk around the block and they pointed out where all the cool dogs and jerk dogs live. I was surprised how well they spoke of the pets around them. Sonya kept looking around for “twins” I don’t know what that means but she kept saying there were 2 of them? Back from the walk we settled in, and they helped me get on the wifi and showed me their favorite TV shows. Dinner went well and we all cleaned our plates 🍽 and cleaned up for the next day. Snuggles on the couch led to an early bedtime. Hope bid me goodnight from downstairs, but Sonya followed me and snuggled right up next to me with her downy brindle coat. Cute softness overload!! 🥰 She didn’t try to lick me to death or hog the bed – she just spooned for awhile, resting her big head on my shoulder. She was content, but already wondering when her parents will be back.
