Getting to spend a long weekend with these guys is always such a treat. What once seemed like a complicated feeding routine is now a breeze. I’m well prepared for their heist antics because they never stop trying (or upping their game). But the special sauce is that I have an individual relationship with each of them. Wynnie, the baby, of course loves attention and always wants to play. She’s easy. 😊 Sydney doesn’t need anything and is happy by herself… unless I’m offering petting. Then she’s right up against me, and noses my hand every time I try to stop. 🥰 Rock has been a tough guy around me in the past, but this time he too opted for cuddling, nestling and making biscuits right in my lap while I rubbed his fur. Jazz is most aloof, sitting on his high perch, but he comes in for an ear scratch occasionally too. The way 4 of us can fit on that couch to snuggle all together, like one family! 🥰 So when the last day rolls around and they see me packing up my stuff, we’ll it’s hard to turn down ONE LAST favor. Next thing I know, we’ve got our harnesses on, and we’re at Spencer State Forest enjoying a morning walk. I could literally see them beaming, their faces filled with joy. And, well, that’s what family weekends are all about.
