Buddy’s first solo visit went great! He came out of the crate happy and exited, we went outside for a potty break, went inside for some water, and headed back out for playtime. There were some complications, as the neighbor’s dog was also hanging out back, bounded by some white flags but seemingly unattended. Buddy was of course excited and curious, as was the other pup, but he handled it beautifully with only a few reminders from the remote. We grabbed a toy from inside but his interest was squarely on the neighbor’s back yard. And when the dog backed off and gave him space, Buddy wandered into (what I assume is) the neighbor’s yard. He steered clear of the white flag area, but definitely was not where he was supposed to be. He ignored the collar until it turned up to mid 30s and then he yelled and headed back. He had to know if I wielded the same power and sadly… I do 😆 There was no fuss and he remained an extremely good boy throughout the brief visit. He was very good about going back in the crate at the end. Overall a success, but some questions remain… 🥰
