By the time I got to Jameson at high noon he had gone on a 3 mile walk, and it was in the high 80s outside. After a few minutes of sniffing I called him to my side and there he stayed without objection for most of the rest of the walk. We ran into Marylin and her family, and Jameson was calm, no jumping, and gave the little boy a sweet kiss on the nose. When I do structured walks I usually let them burn off some steam first so they’re a little more settled down. Today Jameson was already settled. Better still, he was so well behaved he needed almost no correction – there was nothing left to teach him. When he got home, he settled down for his special treat. Tired is its own reward, but actual rewards are better. 🥰
