Buddy recognized our voices (and treat bags) and met our newest team member Amber. He was a bit hesitant to just walk off with strangers all of a sudden, but reassuring voices and leash guidance let him know what we were doing (and that we’d be returning). He did very well on the trail with a short leash, enough so that I switched to a longer retractable. He had enough slack and room to roam but was always easy to quickly guide away from any pitfalls. They say trust is built when someone goes to fall and they catch you, but I think you build more trust never letting them fall to begin with! 😆 By the time we returned Buddy was great at listening and following – just the sweetest hiking buddy you could ask for! 🥰
