Maxwell is such a rockstar with his training ! He stayed in crate until it was “ break “ time . The look he gives is priceless🥰 We did a few laps in the yard and he peed a few times. He has been improving by the car when we walk by and not pulling ! Woo hoo !
Rather than fetch today I decided to bring my daughter out of car to add to the training. Since she is a kid it’s seems it can be more challenging for dogs. I had Sarah keep a good distance since I didn’t want to set him up for failure either .
He was sooo excited at first but not out of control. When he pulled I used the collar and also pulled him away. My daughter would also turn around so he knew right away he wasn’t getting what he wanted . He is SO smart and didn’t take him long to understand expectations.
I had him stay in a sit position and had her just walk from car to rock wall . He started to really relax and would also check in with me . Huge win there !!! After a few times , I brought him in to eat . He ate all his breakfast🥳 after that I took him out for a little more training. This time he did even better !!
I decided to walk with Maxwell as my daughter also walked around. We ended up getting 15 feet from each other and Maxwell was to the point of not too interested anymore but still hoping for attention . I didn’t have her come and try to pet him since again the challenge would likely be too much and I want to keep his
“ dogfidence “ increasing. You & Paul ( and Amber ) have done an amazing job with training!
Unfortunately in my excitement , I left his e collar on him 😞I tried to open slider and Maxwell started howling !! Wow that howl is intense ! Hopefully it didn’t wake you .
I turned off remote and put remote ( turned off) under cushion to side of door . I’m glad he has all that fur so hopefully the collar won’t irritate his skin .
