Well I had the most amazing visit this evening! As I mentioned before, Blu is not what you would call a social kitty, her sister Tinker is the opposite. Well Blu showed me a new side of her tonight! At first my visit started off with Tinker by my feet and following me around for pets and play while Blu stayed in her safe space in the distance but in view but something changed! While I was in the living room playing with Tinker, I heard Blue approach. She sniffed my hand and meowed and a little growl, but then she proceeded to pet my hand and I gave her a brief chin scratchies! She then walked away into the other room since that was a lot for her. So brave! So proud of her! Later I sat on the couch and Tinker joined me. She purred her loudest while she curled up next to me for some snuggles. And wouldn’t you know it, Blu appeared again to my right, I could see that she was thinking about joining us but she decided that was too much too soon. She instead walk passed me and rubbed up against my leg as she walked to her mat by the window with her toys. We did some slow blink therapy as a show of trust and then we played with her cat dancer toy while Tinker joined from the couch. Blu then again let me ever so gently give her a quick head scratchies!!!! It was amazing! I am so happy to see her warming up to me this much! This is a first with this much interaction with her! I can only hope tomorrow she trust for me is even stronger! “Squeee!” I am so happy!
