I walk a lot of dogs so it’s impractical for me to try to learn the various specific commands each parent uses. Fortunately, Julian (and most other dogs) is pretty fluent in English! Rather than good boy, I can just thank Julian when he does what I want. When I don’t want him to do something, a simple uh-huh suffices. Sometimes all it takes is clearing my throat to get the point across. And then there are the English word he knows how to say. What’s on top of a house? Roof! What covers a tree? Bark! What’s the opposite of soft? Ruff! He’s such a smart dog! 😂
